Sisterhood Brunch with Chaya Silver
Sisterhood Brunch with Chaya Silver
Featuring our very own, Chaya Silver, Youth and Education Director who will speak on Mindful Speech and L’Shon Hara in the Age of Tweets, Facebook, and Community Discourse. Rabbi Kagan, best known as the Chofetz Chayim, is famous for a series of books that deal with the biblical laws of gossip and slander, known in Hebrew as Lashon Hara. Given the negative resonance of our cultural and political climate, perhaps now is the time to revisit some of his teachings.
Come sip coffee with Chaya and learn about the teachings of this controversial Hasidic master. We will then discuss and chat about the implications of his words for today. Open to the entire congregation. We invite you to bring your pre-teen, teen and young adult children to this critical conversation.
RSVPs requested but not mandatory. Please respond by Thursday June21 to jfogel2000@aol.com or 703-801-8088.
