Israel Film Series
The movie we’ll watch in this month’s Israeli Movie Club is one of Miri's personal favorites. “Footnote” by director Yosef Cedar was nominated for an Academy Award (Oscar) in the Best Foreign Language Film category in 2011. It tells the funny, tragic and thought-provoking story of two men, a father and a son, who are both acclaimed Jewish Studies professors at the Hebrew University. A comic mistake by a low-level government bureaucrat pits them into a rivalry over fame, fortune and academic prestige. The filming all takes place in Jerusalem, and the film provides one of the most beautiful cinematographic representations of the city. Join us on April 17, 6 pm, at the chapel.
