From the inception of the N.A.A.C.P to black newspapers being first in decrying the abuse of Jews in Nazi Germany to the civil rights movement in the U.S., blacks and Jews have stood arm-in-arm in their fight for social justice. Through laughter, honesty, and conversations, The Black-Jew Dialogues is this Social Justice Theatre Company's attempt to revive this all-important union. The Black-Jew Dialogues explores the absurdity of prejudice and racism. The actors engage in a cross-cultural and cross-generational dialogue and use the light touch of humor to challenge long-established taboos. Through fast-paced sketches, improvisations, puppetry, a game show, and other multimedia arts, the program primes viewers for a post-show discussion where stereotypes and bigotry are confronted and disposed of.
